Join us as we take a look at what a successful franchise looks like from the perspective of both franchisor and franchisee.
We are delighted to be joined by Milad S. Nassereddine, CEO at MJs Holdings and Jim James, Senior International Trade Adviser at the Department for International Trade.
In addition to a brief introduction to the principal terms of a typical franchise agreement, we shall discuss:
- How should franchisors go about identifying suitable franchise partners in overseas markets?
- How should prospective franchisees go about identifying suitable businesses to partner with?
- What does the “perfect franchise partner” look like (from each side’s perspective)?
- When things go wrong: some (real-life) examples of problems which can arise (and how to deal with them)
- Selected questions put to the panel by you the audience via the chat function
About the speakers:
Milad is the CEO of MJs Investment Company, a fast-growing restaurant business based in Saudi Arabia whose business model is founded on bringing leading high-end restaurant brands to the country, and elsewhere in the Middle East, under franchise arrangements. Milad was previously the CEO of The Modern Food Company, another leading Saudi restaurant business, and has a 30 year career in the restaurant business.
Jim has been at the Department for International trade since 2014, following over 20 years with the Haymarket Media Group. His roles at Haymarket included, for many years, running the group’s international licensing team, and his role at UKDTI now involves advising UK businesses on doing business overseas, including through franchising arrangements.
